About the position

At Vandejong Creative Agency you can show what you have to offer. You will work on surprising, substantive and socially relevant projects and lead a motivated and talented team of designers and design trainees. As a conceptual thinker, you are responsible for a project from start to finish, from concept development to implementation.

At the heart of the design team, you will work closely with our strategists, copywriters, project managers and a large network of creatives and makers to make the world a better place together. In addition, you will help shaping our agency and contribute to the development of Vandejong Creative Agency.

We're looking for someone who

  • wants to build new and meaningful brands together with us
  • is an entrepreneurial and energetic team player
  • is socially involved and feels a connection with the content we create
  • has at least 5 years of work experience as a designer / art director within the creative industry
  • knows how to develop campaigns and websites, but also how to bring content and events to life and build sustainable communities
  • is an inspirational and passionate leader for a team of trainees and creatives 
  • is curious about placemaking, design thinking and design sprints
  • dares to stretch the boundaries of creativity and is able to create new worlds
  • continues developing as a creative and wants to shape the studio of the future with us

What we have to offer

As an Art Director at Vandejong Creative Agency, you will join a passionate team that has the opportunity to develop itself personally and knows a lot of freedom. You'll be working at Spring House, our iconic red clubhouse at the IJ waterfront, that functions as a catalyst, stimulating positive change and houses a network of radical innovators. Every day, we enjoy lunch (vegan!) there together in restaurant Choux.

The position is a full-time job (36-40 h/per week), for which you receive a competitive salary. Initially we offer you a contract for a year, but we are definitely looking for someone to work with for a longer period of time.

Over Vandejong

You might know us by our work for the photography platform Unseen, the brand concept of Foam or maybe the campaign of Amsterdam Light Festival. Together with a number of other parties, we devised our own innovative workplace and developed it into Spring House.

Our clients mostly reach out to us when they are on a crossroad. They see that they need to change in order to stay up to date, rewrite their core activities or even redefine their entire sector. It's always a question: what's the next step?! And how do you take it? 

For 30 years, we've been showing how things can be done differently. We use our creativity and active role to make ideas for change visible, recognisable and tangible. We create unconventional concepts, formats, products, events, collaborations and much more.

Moreover, we believe that the world can do better: healthier, happier and friendlier. But to achieve that, we have to start with ourselves. As people, organisations and companies, we must continue to develop. We'd like to change habits that no longer work, to revive the good things and never stop creating new ideas. We have recently received a B-corp status as an agency and as a Vandejong'er you automatically submit to this thought.
